As many of you know there is a new light in the sky over Oxford, This is due to Marquette County building a new communication tower behind the fire station. This tower is for emergency communications and will greatly improve fire, ems, and law enforcement ability to communicate via radio.

UW Madison Med Flight

Picture
Marquette County falls in to several service areas for medical flight helicopters, but Oxford Fire primarily uses the University of Wisconsin Hospitals Med Flight.  The unit responds to our needs several times a year, and lands either at the scene of the accident, or at the ball park in the Village of Oxford.  This particular picture was taken around dusk at the ball park recently, as the chopper landed.  It is always quite a crowd gathering event.  Oxford Fire and EMS personnel are trained to set up a landing zone (LZ), and have been provided with additional equipment from the UW to assist in doing so.
