Command Post
The Marquette County Sheriff's Department, under the Emergency Management Division, is responsible for this mobile command post. It has meeting facilities, as well as on-board communications, computers, phones and weather system. The unit opens completely from the back, allowing easy access during an emergency, or can remain enclosed and entered from a side door. Small kitchen and bathroom facilities further enhance long-stay capabilities. Sheriff's Lieutenant Aaron Williams is in charge of Emergency Management, and this unit.

State of Wisconsin level B Haz Mat Trailer
Before there was an organized Haz Mat unit in the county, departments purchased some equipment on their own for their own areas. When the State of Wisconsin started to get organized, funding was provided by the state for Level A and Level B Haz Mat teams.
Marquette County is in the service area for the Level A team from the Oshkosh Fire Department. Response time for this team, from time of call, is approximately 4 hours. This time factor was key in a decision by the Marquette County Board of Supervisors to offer partial funding support to a county Level B unit in the early development of a B team. Primary funding for equipment and the trailer would be obtained from state and federal grants on an on-going basis. Training was provided by the state to a group of firefighters from around the county, and an enclosed trailer was purchased to transport equipment. The Oxford Fire Department offered to keep the trailer and respond with it to the emergency scene, meeting other responders at the scene. Originally, the trailer was kept out behind the old station, and towed to the scene behind the rescue truck. When the new station was built, the decision was made to store the trailer inside as long as we had the room.
The start of 2022 Marquette County and the Oxford Fire District came to an agreement that the Hazmat Team would fall under full control and ownership of the Oxford Fire District. With this agreement the Oxford Fire District would provide County Hazmat coverage for Marquette County as a type 4 Hazmat team in the southwest region.
